If you scan this problem, you will immediately notice that the numbers on the odd positions (1,3,5, etc) are getting smaller and smaller and form fractions. A division pattern seems logical. The numbers on the even positions seem to decrease fairly evenly, so here we draw the addition/subtraction arches.

Tip: If fractions appear later in the series, often a division pattern is applied.
