What would you do?

Head office has decided that your team will also work Saturdays from next month. You do not fully agree with it yourself, and you know that a few team members have care duties on Saturdays.

Choose exactly one best and a different worst response. Then review the reasoning for all 5 responses.

Judge the responses

1. Announce the decision in the team meeting and say the new roster will follow next week.

2. Say you do not agree with it either, but that unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it.

3. Explain the decision and the reason to the team and ask what a fair split of the Saturdays would be.

4. Send the decision with head office's explanation by email, so everyone hears the same thing.

5. Make the new roster on your own, without asking about care duties, and put it up without explanation.
