SHL Verify Interactive: what you see and how to practise

Verify Interactive is the version of SHL Verify built for phones and tablets. You get the same three kinds of reasoning as in the standard tests, but you answer by dragging, tapping or drawing a line instead of clicking an option. Each test takes 18 minutes and is adaptive: the next question depends on your previous answer (numerical at most 10 questions, deductive 12, inductive 15; Interactive G+ 24 questions in 36 minutes).

What you see

  • Numerical reasoning. The top of the screen gives a few facts, for example the total number of employees and how the departments relate to each other. Below it is a bar or pie chart that you adjust until it matches the facts: you slide the bars or the boundaries of the pie segments to the right value.
  • Deductive reasoning. You get clues about a ranking (who is above whom) and drag numbers to people, or you get a day schedule with blocks and have to fit a task into the only slot where it fits.
  • Inductive reasoning. You see a series of grids and tap the cells of the last grid that continue the series, or you draw the line that connects a set of points in the right order.

How to practise it here

We do not rebuild the interactions; what you practise is the reasoning behind them, as multiple choice with explanations:

Tips for the real test

  • Read all the facts above the chart before you drag; each fact fixes one value.
  • For the schedule: place the fixed blocks first, then the task with the least room.
  • You cannot go back to a previous question; check your answer before tapping Next.
  • SHL offers practice versions of the interactive tests on SHL Direct itself (in English); do them at least once so the dragging costs you no time.
