Matrix explanation - Increase or decrease number of figures
Sometimes the number of figures or elements is important for exercises with matrices. For example, the following patterns may occur:
- The total number of figures increases or decreases per row or per column.
- The number of corners of a figure increases or decreases per row or column.
- The number of figures in a row is the sum of the number of figures in the 2 other rows.
- The number of figures first increases by 2 and then decreases by 1
- etc.
Tip: Pay close attention to these types of patterns if there are (many) more figures or elements to be found in some parts of the matrix than in other parts of the matrix.
